# CBSE Class 10 Mathematics

Dear class 10th students,
From this year (2017-18) CBSE has changed its examination pattern. From now onwards there wont be any home based examination. Student’s class 10th result will be fully dependent on his/her performance in CBSE board exam. CBSE class Xth board exam will be held on March,2018. In place of formative and summative assessment there would be three periodic test and a half yearly and a pre-board exam. But these periodic tests does have a very less weightage on student’s final result. Out of three, best of two periodic test will have a total weightage of 10 marks. Other then this, 5 marks will be on notebook maintenance and 5 marks for mathematical enrichment activities. That means, out of 100 marks 20 marks are for internal assessment and the remaining 80 marks will be purely on the basis of the marks scored in final exam(external). Students have to pass in both the internal and external examination with 33% of marks separately. Last but not least, the most important change is that from now onwards questions from whole syllabus will be asked in the final examination rather then the split up examination system.
CBSE has also revised its course structure for the session 2017-18. Students are advised to go through the syllabus and marking allotted to every chapter.
