Quantitative Reasoning – Practice – Good one or a tough one? Can you solve it?

PSA_PRACTICE_QNR16.

Ans: m/k=7/9

As, m is divisible by 2 and k is divisible by 5; multiplying and dividing numerator and denominator by both 2 & 5.

m/k = (7/9) * (2/2) * (5/5)

m/k= 70/90

Thus, one possible value would be 70+90=160.

To get the other possible values, we can multiple by 2,3,4 etc…

m/k= 70*2/90*2 = 140/180. Sum = 140+180=320. [Satisfies the condition m+k<500].

m/k= 70*3/90*3 = 210/270. Sum = 210+270=480. [Satisfies the condition m+k<500].

m/k= 70*4/90*4 = 280/360. Sum = 280+360=640. [Does not satisfies the condition m+k<500].

In all, the possible sum could be 160, 320 or 480.
